I AM A CHILD OF GOD

My stake presidency came by to visit yesterday. they brought a message and a journal and challenged me to write down the moments when I recognize God's hand in my life. I have given that a great deal of thought, and ya know, God's hand is always in my life. I am continually mesmerized by His constancy in my life. I feel Him walking with me, I ask Him everyday in prayer to be with me ... I can't do this life without Him ... The adversary is constantly figuring out new ways to slither his slimy little self into my psyche ... and my Father In Heaven is there to help me recognize Satan's web of lies, and together, my Father and I cast him out.
He is in my car getting me safely to work ... or wherever I go. He is in my heart when all I want to do is cry because life is frustrating and difficult. He is in my joy when I recognize the beauty of the sun peering through the crevices of the Wasatch Mountains. He is in on my mind when I realize that the only thing that matters is the fact that I am His child. He is the melody and the harmony of the song I sing in my life that I call my own. He is the one who whispers peace and hope into my heart when life in this crazy world feels almost too big and too hard.
His greatest gift to me was the opportunity to come here and learn and then sending His Son to assure that I can come home again. That gift ... the atonment, is a gift that keeps on giving, and for that I am truely grateful.
In gratitude I praise Him for gently seeing me through everything in life! He walks with me. He loves me. I am not alone.

"There's a giggle in every minute ...if you find the joy within it!"

After struggling through some "blahs" which occasionally happen in life ... I have decided to post 20 ways to be happy! Remember ..."There's a giggle in every minute if you find the joy within it!"
1.Happiness is a choice! Choose to be happy!

2.Think Happy thoughts!

3. Pay it forward. For every kind deed offered to you, do a kind deed for someone else.

4. Write thank-you notes frequently. The energy of gratitude feeds happiness.

5. Smile-even if you don't feel like it. You eventually will!

6. Dance! Even if you look funny!

7. When you think a complimentary thought about someone-tell them.

8. Refrain from making judgments-think something positive instead.

12. Happiness is here, in this moment. George Bernard Shaw said, “Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” Know that there is nothing to magically “find” for happiness; it’s created through you.

13. Patch your right eye if you are thinking negative thoughts. When you put an eye patch on your right eye, you quiet the left brain and its negative chatter. And to add to that ... you look like a pirate! And then you can imagine your side kick is Johnny Depp and ...that evokes even more happy thoughts!

14. Hug someone-tightly.

15. Read yourself A child's story ... preferably one with a happy ending!

16. Stay in the present. Let the future be just that: the future. And let go of the past!!

17. Hold a newborn baby and welcome them into the world.

19. Exercise regularly.

20. Pray ... BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING ...NOTHING THAT WILL TAKE LIFE'S STING AWAY QUITE LIKE A GOOD CONVERSATION WITH THE LORD!
21. Oh ... and if you really need a smile ... read my sister in law's blog! She's Hysterical! (See "Chronicles Of The Jeppsons" on my bloglist ....)

Ode To My Cat

I wrote a poem for my kitty ...

Furry face …
Glowing eyes
Tiny paws
Little spy

Funny kitty
Hides away
dresser drawers
silly play.

Stinky kitty
Litter box
Playing with
my dirty socks.

Curious cat
Kitty nap
Purring now
On my lap.

Growing old
little friend
Company now
Until the end

Going home
To God above
Thank you Baby
For all the love.

I’ll miss you!
