What do you say?

(this is my mom and my nephew, Chris)

I know I promised to blog more ...

My mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer. I can't even wrap my brain around the concept, let alone blog about it, so for now this is all I can say. Because I want to say more but can't find the words, I will first ask you to pray for her and then I will post a song I wrote for her last mother's day, she is my hero!:

My Hero

(Written for my mom 2009)

I don’t know if you ever knew

How much I look up to you…

And did ya know that I can see

A hero in you …

shining for me

Showing me the way …

You taught me first to pray

And promised if I had faith, I’d see

The path that God has paved for me.

And every memory that we share

Is a picture you painted there,

To live forever in my soul …

Dear Mom,I just need you to know …

For all the times that I should’ve said it,

I don’t ever want to regret it …

Please understand how much you mean to me.

And the hero in you is now a part of me!

There were times when I didn’t hear

Didn’t listen, didn’t care

And things would sometimes fall apart.

But I knew I could come to you

I trusted that you would see me through

And help me heal my broken heart,

‘Cause I knew that you loved me from the start.

And every memory that we share

Is a picture you painted there

To live forever in my soul …

Dear Mom,I just need you to know …

For all the times that I should’ve said it,

I don’t ever want to regret it …

Please understand how much you mean to me.

And the hero in you is now a part of me!

Oh Jana, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your Mom. My Dad has been in ICU for over a week and I feel like I understand your pain. (I haven't been able to talk about it either). It's very stressful watching our family members go through trials and suffering. I'll pray for the both of you. (Just keep "swimming"....just keep "swimming"......)
