This is the Place ...

7/15/2013 I read 2 Nephi 20-24:

   As I read these chapter's my mind and heart have been filled with a testimony that I am a part of these prophesies that come from Isaiah! I am one of those modern Israelites that are spoken of. In my effort to blog something meaningful today concerning these words, My mind took me back to April 2011 conference with a talk by Elder Jeffery R Holland I quote him here as I could never say such things so eloquently;

 "Before leaving Nauvoo in the winter of 1846, President Brigham Young had a dream in which he saw an angel standing on a cone-shaped hill somewhere in the West pointing to a valley below. When he entered the Salt Lake Valley some 18 months later, he saw just above the location where we are now gathered the same hillside prominence he had seen in vision.
As has often been told from this pulpit, Brother Brigham led a handful of leaders to the summit of that hill and proclaimed it Ensign Peak, a name filled with religious meaning for these modern Israelites. Twenty-five hundred years earlier the prophet Isaiah had declared that in the last days “the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains,” and there “he shall set up an ensign for the nations.”1
Seeing their moment in history as partial fulfillment of that prophecy, the Brethren wished to fly a banner of some kind to make the idea of “an ensign for the nations” literal. Elder Heber C. Kimball produced a yellow bandanna. Brother Brigham tied it to a walking stick carried by Elder Willard Richards and then planted the makeshift flag, declaring the valley of the Great Salt Lake and the mountains surrounding it as that prophesied place from which the word of the Lord would go forth in the latter days."
     I just want to express the joy I feel in my heart at the knowledge of the work of the gospel and my desire to be a part of the building of the kingdom of God. I understand that the joy of such a blessing in my life is a precious gift! Children of dear friends have served, are serving or will be serving missions in various parts of the world! Brother's and sister's do you feel the excitement and joy of the truthfulness of the gospel?!! It is an excitement that I cannot explain but that I can almost touch!!   We are being taught and/or are teaching those who will usher in the second coming of our Lord, even Jesus Christ!  I know of a surety that if we teach by the Spirit and we listen by the Spirit, as we are being taught we will be touched according to our own circumstance, and learn personal prophetic epistle meant just for us. as Elder Holland mentioned in the talk quoted above. And it is that very spirit that will build the kingdom of God!
It is my personal testimony that even starting this journey through the Book Of Mormon just a little more than a week ago, my knowledge and testimony have grown. I hear the spirit say, "Dear Jana, this is for you!"  Listen to the spirit as you read so you may hear that as well!
